Surely whether this is a new tax or not is something that a journalist can and should find out. But instead we get “Partisan A says X and Partisan B says Z—who’s to say who’s right?” FFS. Plus I would actually like to know who is right! What use is this article if it can’t tell me what the policy proposal actually is?
